My Favourite Relative - a poem by Tio

This poem was written for Birgitta.

I am lucky to have you

To help me look pretty

The factory workers cannot do better

I must say that in this letter

You are my favourite relative

And you are an extremely kind person

Who cares for others

You make everyone welcome!

Your smile is as warming as the sun

I feel glad that you are around

You are a beautiful lady

With a beautiful name

My Grandma - a poem by Tio

My Grandma By Tio Lishomwa 8yrs

My Grandmother is a lovely girl

As precious as a glimmering pearl

She looks great in everything

And should be given a diamond ring!

And also I am very keen

On the fact that she should be queen!

In tournaments she will often win

And receive a bottle of gin!

I certainly find

She is very kind

My Grandma is the one I love

And you can read about her just above!

Tio's half term visit

About 2 weeks ago Tio came over for her half term... and we spent most of our time indoors due to some terrible weather. But when we had the chance we went to an animal park.

The roar from this lion was just amazing!!

It was a wonderful day indeed.... except for the fact that we covered 2.5 miles of hills .

I was shattered at the end of it all....

Concert

For my 33rd birthday, Lou got tickets to George Michael's inaugural concert at Wembley Stadium and what a stadium it is....

And what a concert it was....

My Cousins birthday get together

On the 28th of April Lou got a chance to meet up with Gwen, her mum (my mothers older sister), Patrick and Fiona. which completes all the UK based relatives she did not met whilst we were in Lusaka....

Here's Gwen making the best of what was a good day!! We were having a braii (BBQ for the non Africans..) until the weather got the better of the day

I forgot one more little person. This Gwen's little boy, James (jnr.).He had just recovered from a bout of chicken pox!!!!!! little did we know at the time just how well we will know people with the disease!!!!

This is Aunt Tina.

When the sun was out (it was still chilly) we were outside enjoying what sunlight there was to be had... Pauline is on the left and Aunt Tina's youngest daughter Fiona is standing next to me.

I cannot quite remember what we were laughing at!!

Lou, Gwen and James (Senior).......

three months on

It's been 3 months since I last did any updating of the blog... and for that, I do apologise.....

Anyway, whilst I was in Zambia, Tio came to visit sunny Folkestone.... (I think it was around easter time!!!)

As you can see she enjoyed her time on the beach as well.

More pics from Tio's visit

Because of the bad weather, we spent Tio's day over indoors... but we found loads to do. played Scrabble.... I won, followed by Tio and Lou... well, what can I say, she still speaks Zamglish....!!!! I got clobbered on the playstation games, 12 years of IT meant absolutely nothing!!!

And then, I got a kiss... just for just!!!!
Or is she buttering me up for something..... She is only 8, so it cannot be a car.... What do 8 year old want thats not cheap!!???

The Sunday, was a better day but it was still quite chilly... we went for a brief walk down the leas and the Lou took Tio back home.... I am looking forward to her next visit and maybe then I will find out what the kiss was for!!! :)

Tio's birthday present unwrapping..

She arrived and went straight for her birthday presents.... If I were her, I would do the same thing, why waste time with pleasantries....
its not like she can be kicked out for not going through the motions....

A Playstation.....

A Scooter..... but the weather was lousy... so the playstation turned out to be an excellent idea

When all the present unwrapping was done and she was satisfied that we had met her needs until Christmas, she took some time out to laugh at some of the pics on the Blog...

Chil and Lou's birthday outting

We went to a nice restaurant called 'The Living Room'

Not too sure what needs to be said about this besides, putting names and short descriptions of who's who!!!!

This is Jay and Catherine, Chil's best friend and his wife....

Louisa's old friend Jomo (on the right) and his friends, unknown male (gate crashed his way to the dinner 'Zambian style') and Vivianna.

Pamela and Merina, she is Mako's fiancee, they are due to tie the knot in September, Mako's picture is below...

Now we have known him (and his family) for about 17 years... very old family friend.

All in all a very good night. I think we got back to Chils' place at about 3am...

Pamela's visit

A couple of weekend's ago Lou and I had a visit from my sister. She just had to come see where we lived.... Make sure we are both okay and accessible. One would think she were an older sister......

She gave the kitchen the obligatory inspection....

The seating met with her approval too.....

She has promised a trip up when it is warmer..... Bikini and all.....

more from Courtney's party

I was an innocent observer,,, even though deep inside, I was hoping someone would have been kind enough to ask me to have a go!!!!!

Needless to say no one asked me!!!! Stingy Wenches.....

Courtney's birthday

In February I went to Zambia via Malawi. The trip from Lilongwe was done by road, after about 9 hours on the road we got into Lusaka and what did I find....

Chantelle playing with water and balloons....

Then... wait for
it..........its for a Birthday Party.... and it was a sleep over.... Yah!!!!! Ohhh, what a Happy Day.......

It turned out to be Courtney's birthday sleepover party.....

and I enjoyed it.
It was a good day all round. Just ask Chantelle, and we were all sober... :)

Potential Home!!

Lou and I went to the coast on Tuesday (close to Dover), we viewed a house that Lou has her heart set on and I must confess, it is a nice cozy little dwelling!!!

Then we found this in the local town (Folkestone)....
The SS Louisa.....

When we got up on Thursday morning, this was the view from our room, the day that London saw its worse snow fall in 10 years, (all six inches of it).....

The last time I was in London with Lou, some guys decided to bomb a few trains and a bus......

I wonder what's in store for us, seeing as we will be living here for a while!
Well, as long as we are spectators, I will be very happy......

All in 5 days this week!!!!!

Sunday Morning......

Tuesday Morning......

Thursday Morning...... Oh goodness me, what's next!!!!
